Shahbaz Shareef, A Pakistani Psycho

Shahbaz shareef, an arrogant psychotic patient who swims at midnight in his Raiwand palace pool when everybody else is asleep, an emotional stubborn kid who never listens to anybody's advice but considers himself as the most intelligent guy. He believes in Islamic socialism but became one of the wealthiest man of country by looting tax payers money with both hands. He thinks himself as a chief minister of Lahore city but actually he is the Chief Minister of a province. The guy thinks himself as a crown prince of Raiwand but he just has one of those faces that's annoying to look at.

In reality this guy actually believes in "More cheap publicity stunts and less actual work on the ground", Unfortunately this guy is the current chief minister of Punjab who owns 16 Ministries and playing circus in Punjab and governing province like a stubborn kid.

His Punjab Government has nothing else to show except for construction of roads in Lahore as all the development fund of Punjab is being utilized in Lahore and rest of the province doesn't even have proper drinking water facility, sanitation, schools and hospitals.

Lets take a look at his overall Governance and policies.

Sasti Roti Scam:

Rs5 billion were allocated under the head of `Sasti Roti Scheme' to provide cheap bread for the poor citizens of Lahore, but later on Punjab Gov. quietly abandoned its flagship project of Sasti Roti in the provincial budget 2010-1.The omission of the scheme from the budget showed that the project was least sustainable in the first place and turned out to be a liability for the province and its financial managers with a political cost for the Shareefs. Massive corruption and cuttings from Zakaat fund to run the scheme full of failures were part of it.

Dear CM You cant just provide cheap bread unless you boost agriculture sector and introduce farmer-friendly policies.

Danish School scam:

More than 5thousand schools/college of Punjab have no staff and electricity and More than 20 million children don't even get primary education in the province where CM shareef  allocated 5billion from 2011 to 2013 to build few model Danish schools. Instead of spending such huge amount on Danish school system, that money should have been used to tackle ghost schools problem, construct and rehabilitate schools which are converted into stables and cow sheds.

Dear CM Its NGO's job to build model schools, the government's job is to improve the government schools condition, where the majority of the population has to go to.

Yellow cab scheme:

Punjab Government allocated 4.5 billion in fiscal 2012 budget for providing taxis to the graduates of Punjab instead of providing them Jobs. This scheme also turned to be yet another liability when the financial members of Punjab realized the lack of public interest in the scheme.

Dear CM Elite class never goes on taxis while Middle class uses rickshaw for transport purposes and lower class uses public transport, what made u to think that this scheme would improve local transport system and help to reduce unemployment ?.

Laptop Scheme:

It has become the habit of Chief Minister Shahbaz Shareef to use tax payer’s money for his own fame unfortunately. Rs 4Billion were allocated for laptop distribution among students, CM probably thinks that by giving laptops to students, they can bring some kind of revolution. That’s just like giving an iphone to students and expect them to bring a technological revolution.

Dear CM You care about laptops but you don't care about education and providing free laptops to students doesn't mean you are providing education.

Lahore Metro Bus system:

Underground transit train system was introduced by former Chief Minister Ch Pervaiz elahi whose feasibility report was completed in his era, Underground Train system for Lahore was one of the countries largest engineering project after Tarbela Dam which was about to begin but postponed due to change in government. Asian development Bank had also agreed to assist in financing this massive engineering project and more than 10billion $ were to be invested in Lahore by foreign multinationals but Shahbaz shareef cancelled the previous project and introduced Metro Bus system for lahore which is under development yet.

Here are some factual details of Punjab 2012 Budget
  • Rs31.56 billion for education
  • Rs2.4 billion allocated for IT sector
  • Rs16.5 billion allocated for health sector
  • Rs6.2 billion for transport sector
  • Rs1.8 billion allocated for sports
  • Rs1.5 billion allocated to courts to help them enhance their performance
  • Rs320 million allocated for minorities.
The estimated cost of metro bus system is more than the entire budget of education, IT, Health, and Transport sector itself. It is reported that its estimated cost is more than 60Billion and increasing by time, personal gains and motives are behind the development of this failed project as Itefaaq steel Mill (Shareef brothers Mill) got contracts for the supply of construction material. This scheme has affected local business on ferozpur road and has divided lahore in two parts.

Apart from that people of Punjab are facing lot of other problems, increase in crime rate, poorly handled doctors/lady health workers issue, Health and Educational boards scam and especially the utilization of overall Punjab development fund in Lahore while ignoring southern Punjab completely. Chief Minister Shahbaz Shareef's poor decisions and policies has made the situation worse, his governance has become a symbol of incompetency, nepotism and corruption.
